Neaum Crag house and grounds close to Skelwith Bridge, at the entrance to Langdale were purchased in 1960 by the Lake District Special Planning Board and developed as a caravan and campsite.

After running the site as such for some twenty years it was sold to a company called Dorridge Ltd. who replaced the caravans with timber chalets and built two apartment blocks to replace holiday homes that had been built by the Planning Board.

Dorridge sold each of the 82 wooden chalets on its own delineated freehold plot of land. A covenant on the freehold means each owner has to hold a share in the management company "Neaum Crag Ltd." and uphold company regulations.

Apartments are in two blocks, one of 12, the other of 4. The land that these stand on is owned by a separate company "Neaum Crag Court Ltd." Apartments are held by the present owners on a 999 year lease from the company Neaum Crag Court Ltd. and each owner has to hold a share in that company. Each apartment owner has also to hold a share in the overall management company Neaum Crag Ltd.

Neaum Crag Ltd. has only one employee, an estate manager. The wife of the estate manager runs an agency, "Neaum Services", the major part of which is involved with sales and holiday lettings.
